I don’t frequent the WG chat often. That one night, I heard that Frank had a project to create a semi-automated Hits by County map. I thought very cool. Then, I learned more about the project. The obvious CONS that came to mind:

1) We had to manually locate and update the county coordinates. It was rather tedious. This could take quite some time, if we did not get substantial help. But we did a great job – in record time. *laugh*

2) The procedure to transfer WG data that would create the county map was still a bit manual. I doubted very much, if I would update my map on a regular basis. Have I ever said that I hate doing anything manually? *laugh*

Anyway, I was rather late jumping on board. But I thought, what the heck, I’ll help out. To tell you the truth, no one even asked me to help – quite presumptuous of myself… I must add. *little voice in my head – “We don’t need you – who asked you to help.”* *giggle*

So, again I have proven to myself that I am rather short-sited. I could not see the big picture of how this project would be more automated in the future. I am quite happy with results. *smile* Have faith Hans… “If they build it; we will use it.”

Frank, thanks for the tools and the organization. Yo crew, thanks for the hard work – and putting up with my silliness. Hank, thanks for the WG site interface and implementation. Everyone, thanks for the kind words and friendliness. *smile*

It appears that our collaborative efforts are making their way towards the “WG Utilities” idea - Directory of Where's George?
related pages. If any thing that has been re-enforced for me - here at WG it is that: gratification will not always be instant & patience is a virtue.

WG is getting better each day. *smile*
