| Profile: | First of all, if you are reading my profile because you hit one of my bills, thanks! I appreciate it.
Second, I would like to point out that if you are planning on anon-e-mailing me (or if you have anon e-mailed me and are waiting for a response), please don't be offended if I take like, a month or so to answer you. I'm so busy these days, I sometimes go several days without getting a chance to even check my e-mail, let alone answer it. If you wrote to me and it's been about a month, but I still haven't answered you, please feel free to write to me again.
Third, I seem to have a lot of friends who are very good at math, and therefore are plotting world domination. (If you are interested, you may go here to see what my friend Greg, who is very good at math, has to say about that subject.)
I also, however, seem to have a lot of friends who aren't mathematically inclined at all and who will probably struggle to make a living as waiters all their lives.
As for me, I just moved to Hollywood, FL, because this is where my husband found a job (at this school). If anyone knows any good places to work/eat/go to school/buy yarn/see punk shows in the greater Miami-Ft. Lauderdale area, please let me know.
And now for something completely different:
A Brief Timeline of a Selection of My Where's George Milestones
- March 24, 2000 - I registered at WG and entered my first bills. A scant six days later, I got my first hit! I'm incredibly lucky to have gotten my first hit so soon - I have heard of people waiting a month or more for their first hit.
- October 26, 2000 - One bill of mine got two hits in the same day, only 48 minutes apart!
- January 20, 2001 - I reached 100 total hits (and just the night before, I finally cracked the top 20 in Virginia's state rankings, coming in at 19 - my lucky number).
- April 27, 2001 - My first hit in Canada! Also, an incredible 6 hits that day!!
- May 2, 2001 - 200 hits!
- May 4, 2001 - My first bill with 5 hits!
- June 1, 2001 - 1,000 bills entered!
- August 14, 2001 - 300 hits!
- November 2, 2001 - 400 hits!
- January 19, 2002 - 500 hits!
- March 24, 2002 - 2,000 bills entered - my two-year Georgiversary!
- April 17, 2002 - My first APO hit!
- April 19, 2002 - An astounding 10 hits in one day!!!
- October 3, 2002 - My third 5-hitter became my first 6-hitter!!!
- November 20, 2002 - I got my 1,000th hit! Hours later, I entered my 3,000th bill!
- May 21, 2003 - My George Score reached 1000!
- July 28, 2003 - I finally had the chance to join Where's Willy! Here is my Where's Willy profile.
- September 1, 2003 - My first Where's Willy hit!
- November 21, 2003 - My 1,500th hit!
- March 9, 2004 - I entered my 5,000th bill while on honeymoon in Las Vegas!
- August 18, 2004 - 11 hits in one day! A new record for me!
- August 27, 2004 - I got my 2,000th hit! (Hmm, well, the hit counter says that's actually hit #2001 for me... so which the heck is my 2000th hit??)
- December 5, 2005 - After 5 years, 8 months, and 11 days of Georging, I finally got 50-State Bingo! See? South Dakota does exist!
- March 24, 2007 - On my 7th Georgiversary, I entered my 10,000th bill!
My longest hit streaks:
- 39 days!: September 18 - October 26, 2004
- 26 days: August 3 - 28, 2004
- 21 days: May 22 - June 11, 2004
- 21 days: June 13 - July 3, 2004
- 18 days: July 30 - August 16, 2002
- 18 days: February 24 - March 13, 2003
- 18 days: July 7 - 24, 2004
I don't know what it is these days, but I can't seem to go more than 5 days at a stretch anymore without one or two no-hit days. I haven't had a significant hit streak in ages.
Other Somewhat-Interesting Tidbits:
On April 20, 2003, I finally attained my goal of reaching the top 10 in the VA state rankings, coming in at #10!! Woohoo! I usually fell somewhere around #12 before I moved to Syracuse, NY in mid-July, 2003. I entered the NY rankings around #20, peaked at #18, and was hovering around #28 when I moved away in December 2006. I entered the FL rankings at #27 and am now hovering around #34 or so.
I would also like to note that I have entered bills in 85 different zip/postal codes in 25 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Japan, and Slovenia. I like to enter bills while I'm away from home - it's fascinating to see how bills travel in different parts of the country and world.

About my map: I nicked this map from someone else's profile (I would give credit where credit is due, but it was so long ago I can't remember whose it was!) and then modified the key to suit my needs. If you'd like to nick it from me, feel free. If you'd like a blank version, send me an anon e-mail and I'll hook you up. If you think my hit map has too many colors, you can view a more basic one here.
I also finally got around to doing up a page for my site-generated county hit map. Click on the map below to see a bigger version.

| Number of Hits | County Color

Friends of mine from elsewhere who are also Georgers:
- Meg in
New Orleans, LA Virginia Beach, VA Nashville, TN (Meg has not updated her profile in a really long time.)
- Jason in
Silver Spring, MD Horseheads, NY Elmira, NY
- zhak in Murfreesboro, TN
- Daniel in Chapel Hill, NC, who created a profile solely at my behest
- Jill in
Liverpool, NY Baldwinsville, NY Ruston, WA
- I yelled at my dear husband until he made a profile. Hee. ;)
What I do when I'm not Georging:
(Please note: Links in this section will open in new windows.)
- I make things (most often out of glass and/or bits of wire and/or paper).
- I've taken up knitting. Here's a picture of a recently completed project.
- I listen to music (Here's a few of my favorite bands and artists: They Might Be Giants, Old 97's, 2 Skinnee J's, Josh Joplin, Mike Doughty, Le Tigre, Rilo Kiley, David Byrne, Phish, Cake, and seriously, I could go on...).
- I try to see as many arty independent movies as I can. My husband & I are members of FLIFF - our local indie theater is Cinema Paradiso (In VA, the Naro Cinema is where I got my movie fix - in NY, I went to Cinemapolis and Fall Creek, Cornell Cinema, or Thursday Screeners).
- I like to travel (this picture is from a fairly recent trip abroad (in October 2003) - it's me at the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. Please note the oh-so-stylish umbrella I had to borrow from my hotel - it actually had the name of the hotel scrawled on each panel in magic marker. Nothing screams "I am a stupid tourist" quite like a hotel umbrella).
- I geocache, when I can find the time. My user name over there is quoggenzocker.
- I am on myspace, but I don't check my page that often. If you'd like to befriend me, feel free, but please message me and let me know you're a Georger first (or else I will probably deny your request).
- I am also on the Where's George Facebook page.
- My small, black-and-white cat who liked to shed all over my lap at any given opportunity passed away in December 2007. The following August, a new kittycat came into my life - you can see pictures of her here. Kittycat, squee! :)
